Bio:
To start, I am a computer programmer working for a company in New York. Baruch Hashem my company is doing well, and I enjoy my job.

During my free time, I volunteer in my shul in the capacity of Financial Secretary. Basically, this means that I am in charge of the shul's finances, which means paying bills and employees and making sure that it happens in a timely fashion. Besides that, I also attend a support group for divorced people on a regular basis. We've become a close-knit group and provide moral and emotional support to each other on a regular basis.

For tikkun olam, I would like to participate in a project to help improve Shalom Bayit and interactions between parents and children. In summary, I would like to contribute whatever I can to make sure that no one ever ends up like me (divorced), especially when it impacts children. I am not sure how it can be achieved. Also on the tikkun olam front, I'd be intersted in developing software for fund raising for synagogues and other non-profits. I developed the Shalach Manos system that my synagogue uses and automated a lot of the office processes for the shul, including payroll.

If I were stranded on an island, 3 items that I would want to take along include my Tallis/Tefillin and siddur, my laptop and/or PDA, and some of my seforim. I would definitely want to be with my son, and my Beshert (that would be an interesting way of finding her).

My dream place to live would probably be somewhere in Eretz Yisrael. If that were not possible, I'd also be interested in living near my sister in Florida. But both options are highly unlikely as both my son and my job are in New York, and I have no desire to be distant from either one of them.

I grew up in an immigrant home (my parents came to the US two months before I was born). My first language was Hungarian, which is still the language that I speak at my parents' house. During my youth, my parents sent my sisters and myself back to Hungary every summer to be with my grandparents. This was a truly rewarding aspect of my childhood as I learned a lot being exposed to another culture and the opportunity to be with my grandparents. I also spent a year of college in Israel (studying in a Yeshiva).

I like to spend my free time with my son. I enjoy being with children in general (I used to be a pirchei youth leader). I also enjoy travelling, cooking/baking, working on the computer, browsing the Internet, history, listening to classical music (I play the violin) and meeting different people. I also find it important to devote time to torah study every day.

In a home, I believe that it is important to share responsibilities both financial and running the household. I enjoy cooking and am interested in doing a lot of the errands around the house. I am looking for someone who shares my views on this front.
