My name is Emet, I live in montreal, Canada (where it is currently freezing cold, but where we are surrounded by very warm people).
I live in a yeshivish community, with a tinge of Chassidus to me. I like to be fully involved in all that I do, be it in Chessed for others or chessed for myself (such as reading a good book).
oh, one thing that I havent mentioned yet, is that I am a convert. I converted to Judaism, through the mtl Vaad Ha'ir. I started becoming religious over 8 years ago, and finalized my conversion 6 years ago. If there is one thing I am extremely serious about, it is my yiddishkeit, but then again, I am very level headed about it,and havent become one of these extremists. My parents and friends are not-jewish, I work in a non-jewish environment, and I believe that Jews are to be a light unto the nations, so we are bound to have relationships with them.
There are a few suggestions for the Bio box, one of them is If you were stranded on an island, list 3 items and 3 people that you would absolutely not want to be without...
My first thought is a magic book. One book that when you open it, you can get any book you need... be it a Siddur, a Chumash, A learning book, A novel or a How-to... but then, I came to realize that something similar to do, already exists.... a computer with the internet... so
1. computer with internet
2. a Cell phone to get in touch with my Rbtz or Rabbi, or family
3. a solar panel generator to use the above two points :)
the three people I would want to be with:
1. My zivug (if we dont run into or find each other on this deserted island, we have a problem!)
2 and 3. would be my Rabbi and Rbbtz if they want to come. They are like my adopted parents... I actually do call her <mom> and talk to her more than I talk to my own mother. She is not perfect, we dont always see eye to eye, but I know that she loves me, and does and say everything she does, having my best interests in mind.
My dream place to live, would be where its nice and sunny, (That deserted island is starting to sound very good) but first and foremost, a home is where the people you love are, so if they decided to settle in the antartic, then, this is where I want to be... but hopefully, they will have settled somewhere like Florida, California and the like.
